Answer – 

Cotton is obtained from the fruits (Cotton bolls (from the surface of cotton seeds)) of the cotton plant and Jute is obtained from the stem of the jute plant.

5. Name two items that are made from coconut fiber.

Answer – 

Ropes and Mats are made from coconut fibres.

6. Explain the process of making yarn from fiber.

Answer – 

Yarns are made up of thin strands called fibres. The process of making yam from fibres is called spinning. In this process, a mass of cotton wool are drawn out and twisted. This brings the fibres together to form yarn.
