Uttarakhand is a northern state of India. Uttarakhand is the 27th<\/sup> state of India and the 10th<\/sup> state of the Himalayan region<\/strong> (presently). Uttarakhand is also known as Devbhomi because it houses many temples of Hindu Gods-Goddesses. The state of Uttarakhand is divided into two parts Garhwal division and Kumaon division.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Introduction to Uttarakhand<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Uttarakhand was the 27th<\/sup> state of India and the 11th<\/sup>state in the Himalayan region, before India’s Parliament was converted into ‘Jammu and Kashmir’ and ‘Ladakh’ as two union territories from 31 October 2019<\/strong>. Now Uttarakhand is the 10th<\/sup> state of the Himalayan region.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Formation of Uttarakhand State<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

    The Uttarakhand state was established on 9 November 2000<\/strong> by separating 13 districts of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Uttarakhand was earlier named Uttaranchal. It was renamed Uttarakhand on 1 January 2007<\/strong>. Uttarakhand has Nepal in the east, Himachal in the west, Tibet in the north and Uttar Pradesh in the south. The capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun (Temporary), which is the largest city in the state of Uttarakhand in terms of area. The proposed permanent capital of Uttarakhand is Garsain.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Uttarakhand is also mentioned in the Vedic Puranas. In Hindu scriptures, the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state is called Manaskhand<\/strong> and Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state is called Kedarkhand<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Geographical structure of Uttarakhand<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

    It is the 27th<\/sup> state of India, from 28\u00ba43′ to 31\u00ba27′ Northern Latitudes and 77\u00ba34′ to 81\u00ba02′ East Longitude. Its entire area is 53,483 Square Kilometers<\/strong>, which is 1.69% of the total area of the country<\/strong> and is the 18th<\/sup> state of India in terms of area<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In terms of administrative, there are 13 districts in Uttarakhand. The total Population of Uttarakhand is 1,00,86,349 (as per census 2011),<\/strong> which is 0.83% of the total population of the country<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
