- He reached India by crossing the Hindukush hills via Tashkent, Samarkand, Kabul, Peshawar route via Central Asia route.
- He was the first to reach the Indian state of Kapisa in India.
- Harshavardhana was the ruler of India at the time when Hiuen Tsang (Xuanzang) came to India.
- He studied at Nalanda University, get information about Buddhism, At that time the head teacher of the Nalanda school was Shilvarman.
- Hiuen Tsang (Xuanzang) traveled to many places in India and mentioned them in his travelogue Si-Yu-Ki.
- Hiuen Tsang (Xuanzang) participated in the Dharma Sabha of Kannauj and the Sixth Maha Moksha Parishad at Prayag.
