\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Miss Mason seems to be unhappy and upset rather than angry because she had never expected such a behaviour from the students. She wants everyone to think about it and asks them not to do look down anyone in the class.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. <\/span>How does Maddie feel after listening to the note from Wanda\u2019s father?<\/span><\/strong>

3. Why does Wanda\u2019s house remind Maddie of Wanda\u2019s blue dress?

They wanted to apologise for their behaviour but they ended up asking her whether she liked her new school and teacher. They praised her drawing skills and also told how much other students liked her art.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Did they get a reply? Who was more anxious for a reply, Peggy or Maddie? How do you know?
\n<\/b>Answer – <\/strong>No, they didn\u2019t get a reply from Wanda. Maddie was more anxious for a reply than Peggy because she was very upset and feeling sad for Wanda. She had assumed that Wanda was deeply hurt so she was not replying and blamed herself for everything. Maddie used to have sleepless nights and saw frightful dreams about Wanda.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. How did the girls know that Wanda liked them even though they had teased her?
\n<\/b>Answer – <\/strong>Both Maddie and Peggy realised that Wanda liked them although they had teased her because she had gifted them her two beautiful dresses, a green one with red trimmings to Peggy and the blue one to Maddie. She had even drawn their faces in the painting of the dresses they got.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. <\/span>Why do you think Wanda\u2019s family moved to a different city? Do you think life there was going to be different for their family?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Wanda family moved to different city because of her father felt bad about the bad behaviour of girls towards Wanda.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. <\/span>Maddie thought her silence was as bad as Peggy\u2019s teasing. Was she right ?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Yes, Maddie thought that her silence was as bad as Peggy\u2019s teasing because it is often said that turning a blind eye to a crime is worse than committing a crime. So by being silent she indirectly encouraged Peggy to do so.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. <\/span>Peggy says, \u201cI never thought she had sense to know we were making fun of her anyway. I thought she was too dumb. And gee, look how she can draw!\u201dWhat led Peggy to believe that Wanda was dumb ? Did she change her opinion later ?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Wanda never reacted to Peggy\u2019s teasing in an arrogant way. She said everything silently and seriously. She had more understanding than that of Peggy or Maddie. But Wanda was never dumb. Peggy changed her opinion later. It is clear in her regretting later and writing a kind of apology.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Wanda gave Maddie and Peggy the drawings of dresses because they made fun of her hundred dresses. They believe her to be a liar. They were surprised because they always made fun of here dresses and insulted her, but she had gifted them with those beautiful designs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnswer – <\/span><\/strong>Yes, Wanda knew that girls were teasing her She would have known that the children intended to make fun of her poverty, and would have laughed at her whatever she might have said.
