When everybody has short hair,
\nThe rebel lets his hair grow long.<\/span><\/p>\n

When everybody has long hair,
\nThe rebel cuts his hair short.<\/span><\/p>\n

When everybody talks during the lesson,
\nThe rebel doesn\u2019t say a word.<\/span><\/p>\n

When nobody talks during the lesson,
\nThe rebel creates a disturbance.<\/span><\/p>\n

When everybody wears a uniform,
\nThe rebel dresses in fantastic clothes.<\/span><\/p>\n

When everybody wears fantastic clothes,
\nThe rebel dresses soberly.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the company of dog lovers,
\nThe rebel expresses a preference for cats.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the company of cat lovers,
\nThe rebel puts in a good word for dogs. <\/span><\/p>\n

When everybody is praising the sun,
\nThe rebel remarks on the need for rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Working with the Poem<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Answer the following questions:
\n<\/span>(i)\u00a0If someone doesn\u2019t wear a uniform to school, what do you think the teacher will say?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>The teacher will say that he is a rebel because he alone doesn\u2019t wear a uniform.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(ii)\u00a0When everyone wants a clear sky, what does the rebel want most?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>When everyone wants a clear sky, the rebel wants the sun to show up.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(iii)\u00a0If the rebel has a dog for a pet, what is everyone else likely to have?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>If the rebel has a dog for a pet, everyone else is likely to have a cat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(iv) Why is it good to have rebels?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>It is good to have rebels because very few people have the power to oppose the decision of the majority. They think differently and fearlessly stand with their choices which can be beneficial.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(v) Why is it not good to be a rebel oneself?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>It is not good to be a rebel oneself because a rebel is always criticized by the society and people take time to accept rebels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(vi)\u00a0Would you like to be a rebel? If yes, why? If not, why not?
\n<\/span><\/strong>Answer –\u00a0<\/strong>Yes, I would like to be a rebel because I want to change those norms of the society that do not serve humanity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Find in the poem an antonym (a word opposite in meaning) for each of the following words.
\n<\/span><\/strong>(i)<\/strong>\u00a0long
