1. Why did Swami Haridas say Tansen was \u2018talented\u2019?
\nAnswer – <\/b>Swami Haridas said Tansen was \u2018talented\u2019 because he frighten the little group by roaring exactly like tiger and even Swami Haridas was not able to differentiate between the sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Why did Akbar ask Tansen to join his court?
\nAnswer – <\/b>Akbar asked Tansen to join his court because he was very famous and Akbar was very impressed by his music.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. How do we know that Akbar was fond of Tansen? Give two reasons.
\nAnswer – <\/b>Tansen became the favourite of Akbar. He would request Tansen to sing at any time during the day or night. Akbar would walk into Tansen\u2019s house to hear his practice. He gave Tansen many presents.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. What did the other courtiers feel about Tansen?
\nAnswer – <\/b>The other courtiers were jealous of Tansen as the emperor was very fond of Tansen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAnswer – <\/b>If Raga Deepak is sung properly, it makes the air so hot that the singer is burnt to ashes.

(ii) Why did Tansen\u2019s enemies want him to sing the Raga?
\nAnswer – <\/b>The courtiers were jealous of Tansen\u2019s popularity and wanted to kill him.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Why did Tansen agree to sing Raga Deepak?
\nAnswer – <\/b>Tansen agreed to sing Raga Deepak because he could not disobey the emperor. He also wanted to prove his potential.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>(i) What steps did he take to save himself?
\nAnswer – <\/b>Tansen took two steps to save his life. He requested the king to give him time to prepare the sing. He taught his daughter and her friend to sing \u2018Raga Megh\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

(ii) Did his plan work? How?
\nAnswer – <\/b>Yes, Tansen\u2019s plan worked. When he started singing Raga Deepak, birds fell dead and people cried in terror as flames shot up and lighted the lamps. The two girls started singing Raga Megh and rain came down, saving Tansen\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n
